Michelle Kenway is an Australian Pelvic Health Physiotherapist who has spent her career helping women and men understand their pelvic health with clear, evidence-based guidance.
Through this Pelvic Exercises website, Michelle provides free physiotherapist-guided pelvic floor exercises, prolapse information, pelvic pain strategies, hysterectomy recovery and pelvic floor safe workouts for everyone to access.
Michelle’s YouTube channel was one of the first to provide worldwide viewers with physiotherapy-based pelvic floor exercises (Kegels) for both women and men. Today it supports a large international audience seeking help with pelvic organ prolapse, men’s pelvic health, erectile dysfunction, pelvic pain, bladder and bowel problems, and pelvic floor strengthening.
Michelle’s work is grounded in humility, community service, and a long-standing commitment to making pelvic health education accessible, practical, and trustworthy for everyone.
Why Michelle Founded Pelvic Exercises
Millions of people worldwide cannot access pelvic health physiotherapy services.
Michelle experienced this firsthand after the birth of her first baby, when pelvic floor physiotherapy simply wasn’t available. This personal experience shaped the direction of her physiotherapy career and inspired her lifelong commitment to pelvic health education.
Michelle returned to university for postgraduate studies in pelvic health and physio-directed therapeutic exercise. Her clinical work included hospital-based physiotherapy services for urology, gynaecology and obstetrics, providing treatment and running physiotherapy exercise classes for women before and after pelvic floor and gynaecological surgery, breast cancer surgery and general pelvic health rehabilitation.
Michelle worked for over a decade at Mater Private Hospital Redlands, Queensland where she had the privilege of running her own private pelvic health practice within the hospital, treating women and men recovering from urogynecological surgery, gynaecological surgery and pelvic floor dysfunction.
This long period of clinical work strengthened her understanding of the real-life needs of patients and continues to inform her teaching today.
Michelle was invited to join Pelvic Floor First, the Australian Government–funded pelvic floor safe exercise initiative created by the Continence Foundation of Australia. As an early contributor, she supported the development of national resources and provided education for pelvic health physiotherapists, urogynecologists, medical specialists, continence nurses, doctors and community groups across Australia.
Michelle remains committed to reducing the fear, shame and misinformation surrounding prolapse, erectile dysfunction, bowel dysfunction and other pelvic floor problems—conditions that are common, treatable and deserving of open conversation and support.
She believes all people are entitled to professional pelvic health information, treatment and guidance, regardless of life circumstances, age, sexuality or stage of life.
