Pelvic Floor Relaxation Training CD
"Pelvic Floor Relaxation" is a new and innovative whole body relaxation CD with a special focus upon training pelvic floor muscle relaxation. Written and produced by Dr Patricia Neumann, a highly regarded Australian Specialist Continence and Women’s Health Physiotherapist, Pelvic Floor relaxation is an excellent adjunct to treatment for pelvic floor muscle tension and pelvic pain.
Pelvic Floor Relaxation helps women with their home management of chronic pelvic pain associated with:
- Increased pelvic floor muscle tension (pelvic floor muscle spasm);
- Vestibulodynia; and
Pelvic Floor relaxation CD is ideal for home training to reduce pelvic floor spasm, and overcome painful intercourse.
It consists of a series of guided progressive whole body and pelvic floor muscle relaxation exercises designed to teach how to identify and relax tense muscles, especially pelvic floor muscle spasm. Women who suffer from increased pelvic floor muscle tension or spasm are usually advised to first learn how to relax their pelvic floor muscles rather than perform pelvic floor strength exercises or kegel exercises. Relaxation incorporates whole body scanning along with specific exercises and techniques designed to address and help overcome increased pelvic floor muscle tension.
The pleasant soothing musical accompaniment is assists with whole body and pelvic floor relaxation. This CD is ideal to use for regular practice for pelvic floor muscle relaxation. CD can be used in its entirety or the listener can decide which techniques are most beneficial and continue to work just with them.
About the Producers:
Dr Patricia Neumann has a PhD in physiotherapy from the University of South Australia. She is a specialist Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist with a special interest in Chronic Pelvic Pain. She also a Research Fellow at University of South Australia.
Sonia Sharfbillig is a titled Continence & Women’s Health physiotherapist with a special interest in chronic pelvic pain. She has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons Uni SA), a master of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy (Uni SA) and a Bachelor of Science (Flinders University).
